Energy & fatigue

Energy & Fatigue Panel

Being tired all the time has a short list of common causes. This panel checks most of them in one blood draw: iron and anemia, thyroid, B12 and folate, vitamin D, blood sugar, morning cortisol and a full metabolic panel.

What's included

  • CBC

Red blood cells and hemoglobin — the standard check for anemia.

  • Iron, TIBC & Ferritin

Your iron stores. Ferritin can run low even while hemoglobin still looks normal.

  • TSH with reflex to Free T4

Thyroid function. If TSH comes back out of range, the lab runs Free T4 automatically.

  • Vitamin B12 & Folate

Both are needed to make healthy red blood cells.

  • Vitamin D

Commonly low, especially in winter or with little time outside.

  • Hemoglobin A1c

Your average blood sugar over roughly the last three months.

  • Cortisol, AM

Your main stress hormone, measured at its morning peak.

  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel

Kidney and liver function, electrolytes, glucose and protein.

How to prepare

  • Fast for 8–12 hours before your draw. Water is fine.
  • Get your blood drawn between 7 and 9 a.m. Cortisol is read against a morning range, so a later draw can't be interpreted.

Why one panel instead of guessing

Ongoing tiredness gets blamed on a lot of things. These are the blood tests most commonly checked first when someone says they're tired all the time.

Checking them together means one fast, one trip to Quest and one set of results — instead of testing one thing, waiting, and starting over.

What this panel can't tell you

Fatigue has many causes, including sleep, stress, medications and conditions a blood test won't show. Normal results help rule common things out; they don't explain everything.

Bring your results to your own healthcare provider to talk through what they mean for you.

Commonly added

The $10 lab service fee is charged once per order, so add-ons are just the test price — same draw, same visit.

  • Free T3

    $12

The unbound, active portion of triiodothyronine — the thyroid hormone that actually does the work in tissue. Most of it is made by converting T4 outside the thyroid.

  • Thyroid Peroxidase & Thyroglobulin Antibodies

    $13

Both thyroid autoantibodies — against thyroid peroxidase and against thyroglobulin — measured together in a single draw.

  • Magnesium, RBC

    $15

Magnesium measured inside red blood cells rather than in the fluid around them — closer to what's actually in tissue.

  • High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP)

    $14

CRP is a protein your liver releases when there's inflammation somewhere in the body. The high-sensitivity version detects it at the much lower levels a standard CRP test would miss entirely.

Common questions

Do I need to fast?
Yes — 8 to 12 hours before your draw. Water is fine. Plan for an early-morning visit, since cortisol needs a 7–9 a.m. draw anyway.
Is this panel for men or women?
Both. Every test in it applies to adults of any sex.
Do I need a doctor's visit or referral?
No. An independent licensed physician authorizes the lab order as part of checkout. There's no appointment and no referral.
Where do I get my blood drawn?
At any Quest Diagnostics location. Your lab order arrives by email a few minutes after checkout — walk in, or book a time if you prefer. Not available in New York, New Jersey or Rhode Island.
What does it cost in total?
The test price plus a flat $10 lab service fee per order, which covers your blood draw and the physician-authorized order. The fee is charged once, no matter how many tests you add.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes. HSA/FSA cards are accepted.
Do you take insurance?
No. Prices are cash prices, shown upfront before you check out.
When do I get my results?
Usually in about a week. We email you when they're ready (the email never includes your results), and they show up in your Priority One dashboard.
Will a doctor go over my results with me?
No. Your results go straight to your dashboard. Take them to your own healthcare provider to talk through what they mean for you.
What if I change my mind?
You can get a full refund any time before your blood is drawn.
